It is with sadness that we have learned of the passing of our friend and Douzelage colleague Wil Schrijnemaekers in Meerssen, Netherlands.
Douzelage teams celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Ireland
Two guests from the Douzelage partner town in the UK (Sherborne, Dorset) joined the Bundoran Douzelage team for the annual St Patrick’s Day celebrations in our Irish partner town on March 17th!
ABOUT US
What is Douzelage?
Douzelage is an organisation embodying the values of friendship, cooperation, and unity across Europe. Formed in 1991, it connects 28 partner towns, one from each EU member state, through music, culture, sport, and education. Originating from the twinning of Sherborne (UK) and Granville (France), its name combines the French words “Douze” (twelve) and “Jumelage” (twinning). Douzelage hosts annual meetings, and activities such as the Young Musician’s Festival, and the Festival of Europe, fostering cultural exchange and celebrating events like the Pfingstritt in Bad Kötzting (Germany) and St Patrick’s Day in Bundoran (Ireland).

Young Musician’s Festival 2024
The first Young Musician’s Festival to be held since 2019 happened in Sušice, Czech Republic at the end of June 2024. Musicians from 6 towns took part.

The annual Pfingstfest took place in our German partner town of Bad Kötzting where Douzelage delegates took part in the parade and enjoyed the celebrations!
