Information hub for European Town Twinning
New Douzelage Website launched
A new website to promote Douzelage European Town Twinning, its aims, objectives, and member towns has been launched.
The website, created in-house by Douzelage Youth President Zino Vreysen, provides a comprehensive overview of this unique town twinning organisation, which has been in operation since 1991. Douzelage boasts a member town in each of the EU27 countries as well as the United Kingdom and will grow its membership in line with the European Union.
www.douzelage.eu, optimised for mobile and accessibility, takes into account up-to-date web design techniques and technology, allowing the information and images to be viewed and consumed easily by audiences across the globe wishing to find out more about what Douzelage is and how it works.
President of Douzelage, Shane Smyth (IE), said, “We are thrilled with the new website, which also incorporates our new visual identity for Douzelage. It really showcases the organisation and what it is all about, as well as giving members the information that they need to play their active part in being citizens of Europe. We have also introduced a historical timeline which, using available data and photographs, charts the history of Douzelage since its inception in 1991 and gives a clear picture of how the organisation has progressed in its almost 35-year history. We would encourage anyone interested in Douzelage to browse the site to find out more and potentially become involved in our projects and events.”
The timeline will give a comprehensive history of Douzelage
The site, www.douzelage.eu, will not only be a hub of information in general for Douzelage but will also serve as a hub for members, with details on forthcoming meetings and events, as well as having a comprehensive resources area.
In addition to information about Douzelage’s structure and objectives, the website will also feature regular news updates, showcasing the latest projects, partnerships, and achievements of member towns. A dedicated section for young people has also been introduced, offering details on youth exchange programs, internships, and opportunities to get involved in European initiatives through Douzelage.
With an emphasis on fostering collaboration, the website includes interactive elements such as a forum where members can exchange ideas, share best practices, and coordinate initiatives. This platform will strengthen engagement among member towns and ensure that Douzelage continues to play a vital role in promoting European unity, cultural exchange, and local development.
