Sääseümin Estonian Folk Group visits Sherborne
On Friday Sherborne Douzelage hosted a group of young dancers from Turi, Estonia. It was their first visit to the UK and their excitement was palpable. The name “Sȁȁseȕmin” translates as “the humming of mosquitos”.
On Saturday the group travelled to Weymouth to take part in the Wessex Folk Festival. They shared a dance schedule with the Wessex Morris Men and many other dance groups. They delighted the crowds and have been invited to return next year to another Folk Festival.
Sherborne Douzelage continues to bring people together and many friendships have been made across Europe.
